Ted Cutler Lecture
This event will pay tribute to Ted Cutler, a champion for GBFB and a philanthropic icon. Ted co-chaired the $35 million campaign to build our current facility at 70 South Bay Avenue. Without Ted's ceaseless support, we would not be who we are today. His legacy and compassion for our cause at GBFB are unparalleled. The inaugural lecture will feature Rear Admiral Susan J. Blumenthal, M.D., M.P.A.

Keynote Address:
Susan Blumenthal, M.D., M.P.A.

Rear Admiral Susan Blumenthal, M.D., M.P.A. (ret) served for more than 20 years in senior health leadership positions in the Administrations of four U.S. Presidents, including as Assistant Surgeon General of the United States, the first Deputy Assistant Secretary of Women’s Health, a White House Advisor on health, and Senior Global Health Advisor in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to these positions, she served as the Chief of the Behavioral Medicine and Basic Prevention Research Branch where she oversaw nutrition studies, and as Chair of the Health and Behavior Coordinating Committee at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Currently, Dr. Blumenthal is a Senior Fellow in Health Policy at New America and a Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. She directs initiatives that focus on strengthening nutrition in SNAP and applying technology to modernize education and service delivery in the WIC program. Admiral Blumenthal has received numerous awards including honorary doctorates for her important leadership and significant contributions to advancing health. The New York Times, the National Library of Medicine and the Medical Herald have named Dr. Blumenthal one of the most influential women in medicine.
